Graduation 2026 FAQs

  • Attendees must remain in the stands during the fireworks presentation. No one will be allowed onto the field until after the fireworks display has ended. An announcement will be made once the field is open to attendees.
  • Water will be available free of charge in the security line and inside the stadium; however, concessions will not be available. Attendees may bring a clear, sealed/unopened non-alcoholic drink into the stadium. Personal cups and water bottles (i.e., Owala, Stanley, Yeti, etc.) will not be allowed. Snacks are allowed, as long as they fit into a clear bag that meets Matador Stadium’s clear bag requirements.
  • Gates open at 5:30 P.M., with security available at multiple checkpoints around the stadium. Please note that some checkpoints may close once the ceremony starts; however, the main entrances on the home and visitors’ side (closest to Cedar St.) will remain open throughout the ceremony.
  • All attendees must pass through security screening at all entrance points. This screening includes metal detectors and may include a bag check and secondary screening with a wand as deemed necessary by security personnel. Clear bags are required.
  • Attendees may park in the lots outside Goldie Harris Gym, behind Seguin High School (accessible from Lamar Dr. & College St.), or in front of the Seguin ISD Administration Building. Shuttles will be available from the parking lot in front of the Administration Building between 5:30 and 7:30 P.M. only.

Please note that the parking lots in front of the high school and behind the Administration Building will be closed to the public to provide staff parking.
    Parking
  • An announcement will be made once the field is open to guests for photos. The field will be available for photos for a brief period of time after the ceremony. A second announcement will be made once attendees and graduates must leave the field.
  • Balloons, confetti, gifts/packages, glitter, large purses, noisemakers, signs, and umbrellas are prohibited. Personal cups and water bottles (i.e., Owala, Stanley, Yeti, etc.) will not be allowed. Attendees who bring these items to the stadium will be asked to dispose of them or return them to their vehicles.

  • Cedar Street will close at 5 P.M. between Lamar Drive and the backside of the Matador Stadium Jumbotron. This portion of the street will remain closed to vehicles until after graduation. This will allow attendees to safely cross the street. We anticipate the street reopening sometime between 10:00 and 11:00 P.M.

Metal Detectors

0:00 / 0:00

As part of Seguin ISD’s ongoing commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for all students, staff, families, and visitors, walk-through metal detectors will be used at the entrances of select special events held at district facilities, including but not limited to athletic events, performances, and ceremonies.

Guests attending these events will be asked to follow the directions of security screening personnel. Large metal items—such as phones, keys, cameras, and permitted seat cushions—should be placed in designated containers on the screening tables before walking through the metal detectors. Guests will not be required to remove belts, watches, wallets, jewelry, shoes, jackets, coins, or other small personal items.

Seguin ISD will continue to enforce its clear bag policy to enhance safety and expedite the entry process.

For more information, including answers to frequently asked questions, please visit the Seguin ISD website or contact the district’s safety and security office.

Metal Detector FAQ's

  • To continue Seguin ISD's commitment to provide a safe and secure environment for students and guests at our facilities, Seguin ISD is implementing walk-through metal detectors at graduation and other special events.
  • Yes, there will be walk-through metal detectors deployed outside all gates at Matador Stadium. This will ensure that fans can efficiently enter the stadium.
  • Pocket knives are not allowed inside Matador Stadium. They should be left at home or locked securely in your vehicle.
  • Individuals will be asked to follow the instructions of the gate security screening staff and place large objects on the screening table before passing through the walk-through metal detectors. Individuals will NOT be required to remove belts, watches, wallets, jewelry, shoes, jackets or coins. To carefully screen everyone, individuals will be asked to individually pass through the metal detector. The detector will indicate by visible and audible signals to the security screening staff if a secondary screening with the hand-held wand is required. Anyone in possession of a prohibited item will be asked to return the item to their vehicle before being permitted to enter Matador Stadium.
  • Yes, the clear bag policy is still in effect. The approved clear bag with contents will be inspected at the each detector screening table.
  • Metal detectors are safe for all individuals, including children, pregnant women, and adults with most medical implants or devices. Fans with concerns about passing through the walk-through metal detectors should check with their doctor prior to the event.
  • Fans with concerns about passing through the walk through metal detectors will still be subject to screening with a hand-held metal detector wand. If you are still uncomfortable with the hand-held wands, inform a member of the gate security staff so they may notify law enforcement.
