D. Crettenden Picture
President - Denise Crettenden (District 5)

Denise grew up in Seguin, graduated from Seguin High School and then earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Communication and English from Trinity University in San Antonio and a Master of Arts in Film and Television Studies from Dublin City University in Dublin, Ireland. She and her husband Leigh lived in cities around the world before deciding to make a home in Seguin. They have two daughters who attend Seguin ISD schools. Denise has served the Girl Scouts for 21 years, is the president of the Barnes PTC and president of Seguin PTC, the president of the Seguin High School Drama Mamás and Papas, Vice President of the Seguin Choir Boosters, and has served on various district committees including the Campus Improvement Committee at Weinert, the Bond Advisory Committee, Facilities Committee, and the GT Task Force. In her spare time she coaches two Destination Imagination teams. She enjoys traveling and performing community theatre with her family, and volunteers with her church (Spirit of Joy Lutheran), youth, local history, and the arts whenever she can. Denise works as a producer and script supervisor for film, television and social media.

Linda Duncan Picture
Vice President - Linda Duncan (District 4)

Linda Duncan is a lifelong resident of Guadalupe County, a Seguin High School alumnus and a graduate of Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Recreational Administration. She is an on-air personality and oversees programming at Seguin’s KWED AM and also does voiceover with the Boysen Talent Agency of San Antonio. Ms. Duncan is a founding member, past president and current board member of the Seguin Education Foundation. She is a former president and member of the Zonta Club of Seguin, a member of First Baptist Church, and has performed in numerous community theater productions. She enjoys volunteering as an appraiser for Destination Imagination regional and state tournaments, spending time with family and friends and adventures with her fun-loving and talented Havanese dogs, Dexter and Dax.

Her term expires in November 2026.

G. Mueller Picture
Secretary - Grace Mueller (District 3)

Grace Mueller is a graduate of Grace King High School in Metairie, Louisiana earned degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Texas Lutheran University. For the next 10 years she was employed by Guadalupe County MHMR, serving mentally challenged adults. She returned to college and received her teaching certificate from Texas State University. Grace taught at San Marcos CISD middle schools for 30 including 19 years in special education and 11 years as an English/Language Arts teacher. She also taught pedagogy such as cooperative learning, learning styles and inclusion methods throughout Region 13. Mrs. Mueller served on numerous campus, district, and state level committees involving curriculum writing, TEKS development, TELPAS grading, and question development for state testing. She was also active with the Texas Classroom Teachers Association serving as local president, several state chairs and state president. While Grace retired from teaching in 2015, to this day she continues to be a strong advocate for Texas public education. Grace has been married to Seguinite John Mueller for 48 years. She has two children and two grandchildren. She is an active member of Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church where she chairs the Mission and Outreach Committee. She also sings in the choir and coordinates the altar guild. As a Lake McQueeney resident, she enjoys being on the water by paddle board, kayak, or ski boat. Traveling is high on her list of hobbies. However, her favorite leisure activity is babysitting her two granddaughters.

William Dwyer

Trustee - William Dwyer (District 1)

William Dwyer, a fifth-generation resident of Seguin, is a proud graduate of Seguin High School. His family's deep roots in Seguin are evident in the numerous family members who continue to reside, and actively contribute to our community. Professionally, William serves as a Lyophilization Engineer at Quality Bioresources Inc. in downtown Seguin. He is fortunate to be married to Cecily Dwyer, and together they have three children, two of whom are currently enrolled in the Seguin Independent School District. William holds leadership roles as an Elder and Trustee at The First Presbyterian Church of Seguin, as well as a long-time officer and board member of the Guadalupe County Wildlife Management Association. He also serves as a former officer, and current board member of the Seguin Ducks Unlimited Committee. In his free time, William enjoys engaging in outdoor activities such as waterskiing, hunting, and fishing, and strives to share his passion for the outdoors with his family and community.

Trustee - Alejandro Guerra (District 2)

Alejandro Rios Guerra graduated from Edcouch-Elsa High School in Elsa, Texas and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas Lutheran College. He is employed as a Senior Chemist for Infineon Semiconductor in Austin and is married to TLC alumnus Yolanda M. Guerra. They are proud parents of Seguin High School graduates Liliana Rosa Guerra and Alejandro Luis Guerra. Alejandro has served an active role in the following boards and community organizations: 2004 Middle Schools Attendance Zone, 2006 Facilities Committee, 2009-2010 Elementary Zone Committee, 2010 SISD Visioning Committee, 2010-2011 Bond Committee, 2013 Bond Advisory Board Committee, City of Seguin Zoning Board of Adjustments (chairperson), Austin Community College & Advanced Micro Devices Committee, Seguin Education Foundation founding Board Member, former Teatro De Artes de Juan Seguin Board President, charter member and past Grand Knight of Archbishop Patricio Flores Knights of Columbus Council 16748 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, current member of Seguin LULAC Council 682 and member of TLU Mexican American Alumni & Friends Association.

His current term expires in November 2026.

Lisa Burns

Trustee - Lisa Burns (District 6)

Lisa wasn't born in Texas but got here as soon as she could. She is a graduate of Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She moved to Seguin in 2009 to set-up a pediatric dental office with her husband, Al. Since falling in love with Seguin, they have also opened a childcare center and downtown retail shop, with plans of opening a boba shop in the Spring of 2025. They are the proud parents of 7 children, all of whom have attended Seguin ISD schools. Lisa is currently a member of the Zonta Club of Seguin, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, an Ambassador for the Seguin Chamber of Commerce, and serves as a board member for the Community Health Centers of South Texas.

J. Bright Picture
Trustee - Joshua Bright (District 7)

Josh Bright grew up on the west side of Denver, Colorado. A second generation graduate from Wheat Ridge High School in 1997, he joined the United States Navy and proudly served for 21 years. During his military service he was stationed from coast to coast, Europe and Cuba, along with several deployments across the globe. He served as an instructor at the Navy Master-At-Arms technical school on Lackland AFB in San Antonio, during which time he completed his Master Training Specialist. He and his wife fell in love with Texas and planned to retire here, which they finally did in 2019. Dropping their anchor here in Seguin, Claire and Josh’s three sons are enrolled in Seguin ISD along with their niece and nephew. Josh also serves as Vice President of the Vogel Elementary School PTC Board and on the Seguin Youth Sports League Board.

His current term expires November 2026.
