Craig Dailey named Seguin ISD Athletic Director/Head Football Coach

Craig DaileyCraig Dailey was unanimously approved to serve as Seguin ISD athletic director/Seguin High School head football coach by trustees during a March 12 special board meeting.


Superintendent Dr. Matthew Gutierrez said that a committee selected Dailey as the top candidate out of five who were interviewed. Nearly 60 applications packets were received during the 10 day application window.


“We are excited to have Coach Dailey join our Seguin family. His proven culture of winning and leadership will be a great asset to Seguin ISD athletics,” Gutierrez said.


A Seguin High School and TLU graduate, Coach Dailey has been a teacher and football coach since 2004. His coaching experience includes stints at Seguin, Katy and Clear Springs high schools.


During his five years as head football coach/boys athletic coordinator at Clear Spring High School (6A), his football varsity football program has an overall record of 37-18 with a district record of 30-2 and four district championships.


In 2015, Dailey was the quarterbacks coach for the Katy High School 6A Division II state champion football program. He was on the coaching squad of the 2014 Katy state finalist team and has been a part of 15 playoff appearances and 10 district championships.


At Seguin High School, he was the wide receivers coach in 2004 and quarterbacks coach from 2005-2006 with the Matadors winning a district championship in 2006.


As a Bulldog, he earned a BA at TLU in 2004 where he was a three year football letterman and team captain. He served as a football and baseball team captain for the Matadors during his playing days at Seguin High School.


He currently maintains his Texas Educator Certifications in Mathematics (grades 8-12), Health (grade early childhood-12) and Physical Education (grades early childhood-12).


Coach Dailey and his wife Kristin have three children and are looking forward to becoming part of the Matador community.
