Congratulations, to Veronica Silva, our Teacher Spotlight.
1. Describe your teaching career at Seguin ISD.
I have proudly served as a bilingual teacher in Seguin ISD for the last 22 years.
Throughout my career I have taught a variety of grade levels (K-5), served as a Bilingual Interventionist and Bilingual Coordinator. Currently, I am the first-grade lead teacher at Vogel Elementary.
2. How do you instill rigor and relevance in your classroom?
I instill rigor and relevance in my classroom by providing students with many opportunities to think critically and apply the skills they are learning to real world situations.
3. As an educator, you cultivate, inspire and empower. What does this mean to you?
As a dual language educator, I inspire students to believe that learning two languages will empower them to be successful students and citizens. I cultivate a culture of acceptance in which our differences are appreciated and celebrated each and every day.
