SEGUIN, Texas (March 27, 2026)—The Seguin ISD Board of Trustees voted to extend
the superintendent contract for Dr. Jack Lee during its March 26 special meeting.
The Board is “excited about the direction of the district under Dr. Lee’s leadership” and
looks forward to their continued work as a Team of 8. In a joint statement, the trustees
say they “would like to acknowledge his sense of urgency, his passion for what’s best
for kids, his establishment of systems and processes, and his knowledge and
professionalism in all areas.”
Dr. Lee’s evaluation with the Board comes nearly eight months after he joined Seguin
ISD in July 2025. He previously served as superintendent in Bullard ISD, where he led
the 4A district to an “A” rating, restructured the district’s curriculum, established a
mental health support system, and successfully passed a $103 million bond to help fund
new facilities.
The contract extension is for one additional year through July 14, 2029. The Board will
consider changes to Dr. Lee’s compensation during the 2026-2027 budget process over
the coming months. Board President Denise Crettenden acknowledged that the timing
will coincide with Dr. Lee’s first anniversary with Seguin ISD.
“I am very glad he’s leading our district,” Crettenden said. “I have received a
tremendous amount of positive feedback about him and his work for the district, and I
see evidence of his phenomenal leadership every day.”
