Seguin ISD students receive donated school supplies
08/15/2025

SEGUIN, Texas (August 15, 2025) – Students at four Seguin ISD elementary schools will have additional school supplies this year, thanks to the generosity of the TEXAS YES Project.

Nearly 1600 students at Jefferson Avenue Elementary, McQueeney Elementary, Patlan Elementary, and Rodriguez Elementary Schools received the “Box of Dreams,” which includes supplemental school supplies.

“Seguin ISD is grateful to TEXAS YES for selecting four of our campuses for this donation,” said Dr. Jack Lee, Superintendent of Schools. “These school supply kits will help provide the necessary supplies for our students, and give them a great start to the new school year.”

Several Seguin ISD trustees and district leaders were on hand to help distribute boxes to the students in kindergarten through fifth grade at the four campuses. Each student received a box with colored pencils, crayons, notebook paper, a spiral notebook and eraser, glue stick, folders, a ruler, pencils, black and red ballpoint pens, and a box of tissues.

Schools applied for the program based on eligibility; students at all four schools also received the “Box of Dreams” last year. TEXAS YES has distributed more than 732,000 school supply kits statewide since 1998.
