Families, friends, and community members attending the 2025 Seguin High School graduation
ceremony will be required to pass through a metal detector.
The Seguin Independent School District (ISD) will implement the use of metal detectors for the
first time ahead of the 2025 graduation ceremony on Friday, May 23, at Matador Stadium. The
district purchased four new detectors and six detection wands; it also received two used metal
detectors from Schaeffler Automotive as a donation.
Those planning to attend may enter the stadium at 5 p.m., two hours before the 7 p.m.
ceremony. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, as screening could cause delays.
Additional security personnel will be present, and guest access will be limited to the home and
visitor main entrances.
Clear bags are required at Matador Stadium, and certain items are prohibited, including
balloons, confetti, gifts/packages, glitter, large purses, noisemakers, signs, and umbrellas.
Flowers for graduates will be allowed.
Seguin ISD appreciates the community’s support of maintaining a safe environment for our
students and families to celebrate.
