Free ESL, GED courses to be offered at Mary B. Erskine School

Seguin ISD’s Mary B. Erskine School will serve as the location for free adult education and literacy courses hosted by Education Service Center Region 20.

 

Registration for free General Equivalency Diploma (GED) courses is Sept. 11 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Orientation is Sept. 13 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Classes begin Sept. 18.

 

Eligible GED students must be 19 years or older or 17-18 years of age with withdrawal forms from last school attended and parent/guardian permission. Parent/guardian must be present at registration. Sixteen year olds are eligible based upon requirements for 17-18 years olds plus court ordered documentation. TANF documentation and a photo ID must be presented during registration.

 

Free English as a Second Language (ESL) courses begin Sept. 17. Registration and orientation is Sept. 10 and 12, respectively, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. both days. TANF and a photo ID must be presented during registration.

 

Attendance at registration and orientation is mandatory for GED and ESL courses. It is recommended that attendees arrive 30 minutes early.
