The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) program, which was implemented in spring 2012, includes annual assessments for reading and mathematics in grades 3 and 8, writing at grades 4 and 7, science at grades 5 and 8, social studies at grade 8 and end-of-course (EOC) assessments for English I, English II, Algebra I, biology and U.S history.

The STAAR program measures the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) curriculum standards that serve as the foundation of our classroom instruction in Seguin ISD schools.

Upcoming testing dates include:
• March 29 for grades 4 and 7 Writing STAAR, grades 5 and 8 Math STAAR and English I STAAR
• March 30 for grades 5 and 8 Reading STAAR and March 31 for English II STAAR
