12/09/2015
On Dec. 5-6, 22 members of the Seguin High School Thespian Troupe competed at the Texas Thespian Convention in Dallas.

“This was a tremendous opportunity for our students to learn and perform with more than 6,000 students at the state high level. While at the convention, our Matadors participated in workshops, plays and competition. Many had the opportunity to audition for scholarships. Their hard work has paid off with tremendous success,” said Lydia Robles, Seguin High School theatre director.

Sophomore Amber Mawande-Spytek competed in Solo Musical and earned the top rating from each judge. As a result, she is a National Qualifier and was named Mainstage Finalist. Anderson Roy, a junior, is also a National Qualifier in Solo Musical. The team of Anthony Zavala, a senior, and junior Charlotte De Leon also received National Qualifier nods for Duet Musical.
