Community urged to serve on Seguin ISD's SHAC
09/10/2015
Seguin ISD is seeking individuals who would like to serve on the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) to help the district identify and set priorities regarding health and wellness.

The SHAC addresses topics related to coordinated school health including health education and services, physical education, nutrition services, social and emotional climate, counseling, healthy school environment, staff health promotion and family/community involvement.

“Seguin ISD is committed to supporting students, staff and parents by creating opportunities to make healthy lifestyle choices. Input and ideas from our stakeholders will help ensure that the SHAC reflects the values of our community,” said Seguin ISD Superintendent Stetson Roane.

Community members interested in serving on the committee and willing to learn more about health issues that can impact student academic performance are encouraged to attend the SHAC meeting on Sept. 23, 5 p.m. at Seguin ISD District Office, 1221 E. Kingsbury.

The SHAC will meet Sept. 23, Oct. 21, Feb. 24, March 23 and May 11 during the 2015-2016 school year.
