SEGUIN, Texas (Nov. 16, 2022) – Each year, tens of thousands of students from across Texas
compete in a series of auditions to earn coveted spots in their Region Choirs and move onto the All-State
Choir in February at the Texas Music Educators Association Conference in San Antonio.
According to Dr. Samuel Parrott, Seguin ISD head choir director, 12 singers from Seguin High School
auditioned for the three different choirs in Region 12, which includes most of San Antonio, Seguin, San
Marcos, Lockhart, and Cuero, and 11 were named as members of the choirs or alternates. Harrison Dean,
Kaden Legore, Jay Howard and Eli Mays will represent Seguin High School in the Region 12 Mixed
Choir. Hannah Perez, Alyssa Dill and Alex Megason will perform with the Region 12 Treble Choir and
Caitlin Bray will serve as an alternate. Olivia Acuna and Mia Alcoser will perform with the Region 12
Honor Treble Choir and Eleanor Crettenden will serve as an alternate.
Dean, Legore and Howard will compete in the next round of the All-State process with eyes on a spot in
the All-State Choir.
