The district officially opened the new additions at Ball Early Childhood Center and A.J. Briesemeister
Middle School Monday morning. Superintendent Dr. Veronica Vijil was joined by several past and
present board members to cut the ribbon at both campuses. Those present included current president
Alejandro Guerra, secretary Linda Duncan, trustees Grace Mueller and Denise Crettenden, former
president Cinde Thomas-Jimenez, and former secretary Glenda Moreno.
Briesemeister’s remodel was approved by Seguin voters under the district’s 2019 bond package. The
construction expanded on the original school's 1974 blueprint to bring the full student population under
one roof.
Additional funds from the 2019 bond were also used to add classroom space at Ball ECC. Its new wing will welcome Seguin ISD’s youngest students on Monday, August 19. Students at the districts 12 other campuses start class on Thursday, August 15.
