Dr. Sam Hogue comes from Fabens ISD in El Paso to serve as the interim deputy superintendent.
His first day at Seguin ISD was Oct. 30.

“Dr. Hogue has many strengths and brings a wealth of knowledge to this role. He has previously
served as a principal on multiple high school campuses. I am grateful for his willingness to join
us on an interim basis,” said Dr. Veronica Vijil, Seguin ISD interim superintendent.

Joel Treviño has accepted the position of chief of human resources. He joined Seguin ISD as the
interim chief of human resources on Sept. 26.

“Mr. Treviño brings expertise to human resources with extensive prior experience at North East
ISD in San Antonio. We are truly fortunate to have him on board permanently. He is creating
systems, connecting with other departments and visiting with campus administrators,” Vijil said.

Jill Nash is the district’s new director of community engagement. She will also serve as the
executive director of the Seguin Education Foundation. As a longtime employee of First
Commercial Bank and as a school volunteer, she is very active in the Seguin community. Her
first day was Oct. 12.

“Mrs. Nash already has a large network of contacts throughout the community. Her skills will
prove beneficial to help nurture relationships with the business community and also continue the
momentum of SEF,” Vijil said.
