Seguin ISD School Safety Summary 2021
08/13/2021

With the opening of school on Aug. 16, several safety protocols will be in place in order to provide a safe learning environment for our students and staff . These are subject to change over time. The district will communicate any changes to the school community as they arise.

  • While masks aren't mandatory in Seguin ISD schools, we encourage our students and staff to wear them while in our schools. Please, respect student and staff choices when it comes to masks.
  • Effective Aug. 16 (Aug. 18 for Ball ECC), visitors will not be allowed on our campuses. We anticipate that this protocol will be a temporary one that can be rescinded once COVID numbers stabilize and ultimately decline.
  • Classrooms will be cleaned frequently, handwashing will be encouraged and we ask that our students use their reusable water bottles.
  • Thermal temperature scanners will still be in place at our campus main entrances.
  • We will notify our parents of known COVID cases in our classrooms.
  • We will contact trace known COVID cases at schools the best that we can.
  • Parents, if your student is ill, please keep your child at home. We have COVID testing capabilities for students with parental permission.
  • A Covid-19 vaccination clinic is available for everyone 12 years and older on Aug. 14 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • After Aug. 16, a COVID chart will be posted on the Seguin ISD website. Numbers of positive student and staff cases will be updated on a regular basis.
  • According to 2021-2022 UIL Covid-19 guidelines, a student who has been diagnosed with Covid-19 must receive clearance from a physician prior to returning to participation in UIL marching band or athletic activities.

Together, we can start off the school year in a safe manner for all of our Seguin ISD families.
