What type of impact did ECHS have on your current role as a college student?
It made me become more prepared to go into college and made me gain many skills from the required classes. One of the most important skills being organization. I used to think organization was not that important but once I started college, my perspective definitely changed and made me realize how important it is to be on top of things, such as my classes and events.
What was one of the most valuable lessons you learned as a Seguin ECHS student?
I learned that procrastinating will be your biggest enemy. Managing your time plays a huge role in how well you perform in school. There is no such thing as turning in an assignment late in college, so definitely start to use your time wisely, so that once you're in college work gets done by the due date.
If applicable, describe an inspirational moment or person during your time as an ECHS student?
An inspirational moment while being an ECHS student was when I received my St. Philip’s College diploma in the mail. Due to COVID, the Class of 2020 did not get to have a St. Philip's graduation ceremony, so receiving the diploma, made me proud of my hard work and dedication.
What advice do you have for current ECHS students?
Don’t give up! There are times where you might want to give up, but trust me, everything is worth it at the end.
If you could give current 8th graders insight to the benefits of being an ECHS student, what would you say?
College is not cheap, so if you have the opportunity to be a part of the wonderful ECHS program, do it because it will save you two years worth of tuition.
What is your long term goal after you finish your degree?
My plan is to become a social media specialist and help brands or companies improve their marketing to help increase the company or brand’s awareness.
