Nikki Bittings

Director, Human Resources

Nikki Bittings has served Seguin ISD as a secondary administrator for 15 years, most recently as the Principal of Barnes Middle School. Ms. Bittings was willing to assume the role at Barnes during a very critical time, and during that time her leadership has helped improve campus culture, systems, and structures. Her ability to build relationships and make everyone she encounters feel valued will be an asset in her new capacity. Ms. Bittings was also the very first recipient of the Superintendent’s Award in September 2018.

Jason Schmidt

Principal, Barnes Middle School

Jason Schmidt has served in a variety of educational capacities, most recently serving as Seguin ISD’s Chief Academic Officer the past three years. Mr. Schmidt has spent the majority of his career at the middle school level where he thrived as a teacher and leader. As our Chief Academic Officer, he played a pivotal role in the strategic planning process, attaining “District of Innovation” status, and spearheading the launch of many new programs and initiatives. His desire to return to a campus where he can have a direct impact on students is to be commended.
