Several Seguin ISD Destination Imagination (DI) teams competed in the regional event in San Antonio on Feb. 29.
Teams that took first place teams have advanced to the Lone Star Finals in Arlington on April 4.
A Seguin High School team of Gage Compton, Leo de Leon, Gracie Compton, Elizabeth Mays and Seth Kortz took first place in Service Learning and received at Renaissance Award.
Beckett Legore, Andy McDowall, Trinity Ramirez and Karen Ranft of Seguin High School received first place in Improv.
Also earning first place in Improv was the Barnes Middle School team of Eleanor Crettenden, Rylie Wilke, Molly Burns, Ella Kennington, Jade Ramirez and Clara Spencer-Dibble (of Patlan Elementary).
A Barnes Middle School independent team of Addison McDowall took first place in Service Learning and also earned a DaVinci Award.
The Weinert Elementary team of Griffin Welfel, Laine McCown, Caleb Pape and August Panozzo finished first in Fine Arts.
Ashton Baker and Lauren Baker of Koennecke Elementary, along with Addie Dunn (Rodriguez ES), plus Weinert Elementary’s Travis Just, Kooper Goodwin, Jackson Kirchner and Miley Burns advanced with a first place finish in Scientific.
Placing second in Scientific was the Weinert Elementary team of Paige Leyendecker, Ava Martinez, Piper Perry, Allison Schievelbein, Jason Ranft, Raegan Ranft and Evan Flores.
