11/14/2017

During the Nov. 14 regular board meeting, trustees unanimously approved Laura Flack to serve as Ball Early Childhood Center (ECC) principal. Flack obtained her Bachelor’s from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi in Interdisciplinary Studies and earned her Master’s degree from Lamar University in Educational Administration. She holds a Generalist EC-4 certificate along with a Principal EC-12 certification.

She began her teaching career in Seguin ISD at Patlan Elementary where she taught third and fourth grade students. For the past five years, Flack served as assistant principal at Koennecke Elementary. In this role, she attained the skills necessary to be a campus principal which includes fostering relationships with students, staff and parents, curriculum planning and writing, implementing school improvement through data analysis, establishing professional learning communities, facilitating the campus Response to Intervention program, and creating a campus-wide attendance incentive program.

Ball ECC offers a prekindergarten program for three- and four-year-old students. Flack tailored her education toward early childhood by taking coursework directly related to early literacy and child development. With her recent experience at the elementary campus, she knows firsthand what students will need to succeed as they enter their kindergarten year. She is thrilled for the opportunity to lead the first campus that many Seguin ISD students will attend.

“I look forward to providing students and families with the best experience possible and to instill the love for learning for students, staff and parents,” she said.
