Seguin High School's UIL Academic and Speech and Debate teams competed in Schertz on Feb. 11 at the UIL Invitational Meet, placing in 19 individual events and two team events. The Speech and Debate team placed second at the meet and overall all teams finished third.

Students who placed include Reagan Rodgers first News Writing and sixth Editorial Writing, Ruben Hernandez third News Writing, Nhu-Y Tran third Calculator and fourth Science, Sophie Anderson sixth Ready Writing, Callen Wessles second Computer Science, Bailey Hubbard sixth Computer Science, Julio Navarro fourth Prose, Jamee McDaniel second Poetry, Monique Jordan sixth Poetry, Samara Hernandez sixth Persuasive, Beyonce Harris seventh Persuasive, Daniel Aceituno first Informative, Breanna Balderas sixth Informative, Josh Valdez sixth Lincoln Douglas Debate and Julia Montgomery seventh Lincoln Douglas Debate. The second place Computer Science team members are Callen Wessles, Bailey Hubbard and Charlie Walker. Candy Saldana, Louis Salamanca and Deyanira Santamaria finished third in Social Studies.
