03/11/2016
The Seguin High School One Act Play advanced to District competition on March 10 and earned a plethora of honors in the process.

Awards were given to Amber Mawande-Spytek for Best Actress and Anderson Roy brought home Best Actor, the highest acting honors in the competition.

Reid Daniels was awarded All Star Crew, Morgan Catching earned Honorable Mention and Anthony Zavala received All Star Cast.

"Seguin High School’s Theatre Arts students have been so committed and have worked so hard to make this show a success. Every day they pack and unpack my car with props, costumes and set pieces that go to Saegert where we rehearse. They work without a shop or an auditorium with curtains, stage lighting and a stage sound system yet they continue to excel. Their success only proves their love for theatre and hard work,” said Lydia Robles, Seguin High School theatre director.

In addition to the students above, the Matador Theatre Arts troupe consists of Kambra Beicker, Maya Clark, Maddy Coleman, Jade Evink, Naomi Gomez, Joseph Gonzales, Thomas Hagan, Sarah Henderson, Victoria Henderson, Monique Jordan, Jamee McDaniel, Jerilyn McNulty, Denver Miner, Jonah Reilly, Kenneth Sebourn, Jack Strauss and Landon Twitero.

District competition is March 24 in San Marcos. Teacher Justin Tristan also serves the Seguin High School Theatre Arts Department.
