Parking information for the Matador's Sept. 18 Homecoming game
09/16/2015
The Seguin Matadors are hosting their second home football game of the 2015 season on Sept. 18 against San Marcos.

Guests attending the 7:30 p.m. contest, which is Seguin High School’s Homecoming game, are reminded that due to construction at Seguin High School, a road closure and a scheduled volleyball game at Goldie Harris Gym, parking at Matador Stadium has changed compared to last fall.

“As a service to our Matador and Rattler fans, Seguin ISD will continue to offer shuttle bus service from the west side of Mercer Blumberg Learning Center (MBLC), located at 1205 E. Kingsbury, to the stadium during pregame and back from the stadium to MBLC postgame,” said Sean Hoffmann, Seguin ISD public information officer.

The shuttle bus service has been expanded and will begin at 5:30 p.m. and run through 7:30 p.m. At the start the fourth quarter, shuttles will run from the stadium to the west end of MBLC. Those who park at the Seguin High School lot on College Street can also take advantage of shuttle bus service since construction prohibits walking directly to the stadium.

Handicap parking will be available at the Seguin High School north parking lot, located at Cardinal Lane and Cedar Street. Guests with a valid handicap parking placard or license plates will be allowed into the north lot, located west of the home side of Matador Stadium. The handicap parking area must be accessed by traveling southbound on Cardinal Lane.

“Cedar Street between Lamar Street to the west and the Goldie Harris Gym lot to the east will remain closed in order to provide safe pedestrian egress to and from Matador Stadium. The Goldie Harris lot will remain open all day for student, volleyball and football game parking,” he said.

A temporary ticket booth will again be set up at the corner of Cedar Street and Cardinal Lane. “This additional point of sale for tickets proved popular during our home opener against New Braunfels. It cut down on lines and wait time at the stadium home and visitor side ticket booths,” Hoffmann said.

There is one more change for this week’s Homecoming game. Seguin ISD middle school students who attend the game without a parent or guardian will sit with their campus colleagues. Briesemeister Middle School students will sit in the upper level stands at the north end of Matador Stadium. Barnes Middle School students will sit in the south end upper level seats.
