In keeping with back to school traditions, Seguin ISD schools
will welcome students back during the popular Meet the Teacher Nights on Aug. 20-21.
“Meet the Teacher offers students and parents the opportunity to drop by their school prior to
Aug. 24, the first day of school, to become better acquainted with their campus. As the name
implies, they can meet their teachers and campus leaders, visit their classroom and place school
supplies in their desk. Parents, especially those of our younger students, have told us that Meet
the Teacher is a great opportunity for families to connect with their school prior to the first day,”
said Sean Hoffmann, Seguin ISD public information officer.
On Aug. 20, Meet the Teacher is scheduled at Ball Early Childhood Center from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
and Seguin High School from 4-6 p.m. Barnes and Briesemeister middle schools will host sixth
through eighth graders from 5-7 p.m.
Each Seguin ISD elementary school (Jefferson, Koennecke, McQueeney , Patlan, Rodriguez,
Vogel and Weinert) has Meet the Teacher slated for Aug. 21, 4-6 p.m. Ball Early Childhood
Center will host from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 21.
Parents and students may visit their school any time during the two hour windows.
Hoffmann notes that families who could not attend scheduled student registration dates are
encouraged to visit their child’s school to complete the registration process as soon as possible.
“Completing registration now ensure that our students are in class and not missing valuable
instruction time during the first week of school. To help facilitate the process, we have
registration information, including downloadable forms and a list of required documents, plus
school supply lists, online at www.seguinisd.net,” he said.
