Seguin ISD is now accepting applications for its District 1 seat, which will be vacant after the Nov. 5, 2024 election.
The current District 1 trustee, Board Vice President Carl Jenkins, has chosen not to run for re-election. No one filed to run for the seat by the Aug. 19 filing deadline.
Seguin ISD District 1 residents interested in serving on the district’s school board are invited to send a letter of interest and a resume to pnramirez@seguin.k12.tx.us through Oct. 25 at 5 p.m.
Trustees will review submissions and conduct interviews with selected candidates on Nov. 6. The board plans to appoint the new District 1 trustee at its Nov. 19 regular school board meeting.
The appointed trustee will serve the full four-year term, which expires in November 2028. You can read more about the eligibility qualifications in board policy here.
Eligible candidates must live in District 1, between TX-46 and Kingsbury Road, up to the district’s northern boundary line. Maps of the Seguin ISD single-member districts are online at https://www.seguin.k12.tx.us/page/board.districts.
