Dr. Gutierrez accepts top post in Madison, WI

Dr. Matthew GutierrezSeguin ISD Superintendent Dr. Matthew Gutierrez has accepted the superintendent position at the Madison Metropolitan School District in Madison, WI.

 

Dr. Gutierrez has served as Seguin ISD Superintendent since July 2017 and is known for championing community and student engagement, creating a five-year strategic plan, and successfully passing a $64.7 million bond election in May 2019.

 

“On behalf of the Seguin ISD board of trustees, we wish Dr. Gutierrez continued success in his career. His leadership and professionalism has been integral in building a lasting, positive culture in Seguin ISD,” said Cinde Thomas-Jimenez, Seguin ISD school board president.

 

He plans to remain at Seguin ISD through June 1 in order to finish the school year. In the coming weeks, trustees will discuss the process and timeline to hire a permanent superintendent.

 

“The transition will include opportunity for public input and feedback on qualities that an ideal superintendent candidate will possess in order to lead our district,” Thomas-Jimenez said.

 

Seguin ISD operates a pre-kindergarten campus, seven elementaries, two middle schools, one high school and two specialized alternative learning centers for 7,300 students.
