SISD Registration, Meet the Teacher dates set
07/31/2018

While there is no doubt that it is summertime in Seguin, it’s also time to start thinking about going back to school. The first day for students in Seguin ISD is Aug. 23.

Yet there are several activities and events leading up to day one.

Registration for all Seguin ISD students begins Aug. 7 at Ball Early Childhood Center and at all elementary schools from 8 a.m.-6 p.m., both middle schools from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Mercer Blumberg Learning Center (MBLC) 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Seguin High School, 8 a.m.-7 p.m. for grades 9, 11 and new students.

On Aug. 8, registration continues at Ball from 8 a.m.-3 p.m., the middle schools from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., MBLC from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Seguin High School from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. for grades 10, 12 and new students.

Registration wraps up on Aug. 9 at Ball, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and Seguin High School, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

“Having the proper paperwork in hand helps to ensure a smooth registration process,” said Sean Hoffmann, Seguin ISD executive director of communications.

Required documents include a parent/guardian photo ID plus a student Social Security card, student immunization records, student proof of ID and age and proof of residency.  A student social security card is preferred but not required. Enrollment will not be refused for any student opting not to provide a social security card or number.

Parents and students who cannot attend these registration dates may contact their school to schedule a date and time to register.

“To help simplify registration, we have information, including downloadable forms and a list of required documents, plus school supply lists, online at www.seguin.k12.tx.us/page/bts.home,” he said.

Meet the Teacher Nights

Seguin ISD schools will again welcome students back by offering the popular Meet the Teacher Nights on Aug. 21-22.

“Meet the Teacher Night offers students and parents the opportunity to drop by their school prior to Aug. 23, the first day of school, to become better acquainted with their campus. As the name implies, they can meet their teachers and campus leaders, visit their classroom and place school supplies at their desk. Parents, especially those of our younger students, have told us that Meet the Teacher is a great opportunity for families to connect with their school prior to the first day,” he said.

On Aug. 21, Meet the Teacher is scheduled at Ball Early Childhood Center, MBLC and Seguin High School from 4-6 p.m. and at the two middle schools from 5-7 p.m.

Each elementary school will host the event on Aug. 22 from 4-6 p.m.

Parents and students may visit their school any time during the scheduled timeframes.
