• The 6 Fighting Matadors team of Weinert Elementary finished first in Fine Arts Category "Change of Tune" and earned the Spirit of Discovery Award at Destination Imagination regional competition. They have advanced to state.

  • The Barnes Middle School Ride or DI team will compete at state after finishing first in the in Engineering Category "Drop Zone" and also earning a DaVinci Award at regional Destination Imagination.

  • The Live of DI team from Barnes Middle School was awarded first place in Fine Arts "Change of Tune" and also earned a DaVinci Award at Destination Imagination regional competition and have now advanced to state.

  • Seguin High School's Seguin Treasure took first place in Service Learning "Inside Impact" and earned the Renaissance Award at Destination Imagination. As a result they are headed to the state competition.

  • The Barnes Middle School DI team Magic D Eyes will compete at state thanks to their first place finish in Service Learning "Inside Impact" and earning a Renaissance Award at Destination Imagination.

  • The Seguin High School Starsteppers competed in the Crowd Pleasers Hill Country Showcase event in New Braunfels Feb. 10. They brought home an overall silver sweepstakes award for earning over 90 points (out of 100) from all three judges on all three of their routines. In the small team category, they also brought home first place in kick routine and second place in contemporary routine and pom routine.

  • Seguin High School senior Megan Wilke signed a letter of intent to attend TLU and play volleyball on Feb. 15. She was joined by her family, coaches and Matador teammates.

  • Sixteen students from Mercer Blumberg Learning Center accompanied their teacher, Selma Kovars, to see author Shaka Senghor speak at TLU on FEb. 7.
