1. Describe your teaching career at Seguin ISD.
I have really enjoyed the last 5 years teaching sixth-grade science with Seguin ISD. I am a transplant from Houston and love being part of a community that works together to help our students become great citizens.
2. How do you instill rigor and relevance in your classroom?
I enjoy creating lessons that have a meaning and a purpose, relating what we do to our everyday lives or the students' future careers. I do this by giving students opportunities to collaborate and explore. I offer different styles of learning through technology and hands-on projects.
3. As an educator, you cultivate, inspire and empower. What does this mean to you?
Cultivate, inspire and empower means that educators go beyond the classroom to help students try and build positive relationships for a positive growth mindset. Students inspire me to become a better teacher each day by working on and overcoming obstacles that may come our way. I create a loving and positive environment to empower students to grow both mentally and educationally.
