Technology Department Vision and Goal
The Seguin ISD Information Systems and Instructional Technology Department supports instructional and administrative functions of the school district. This department is directly under the Superintendent.

The Technology Department is divided into the following divisions: Instructional
Technology; Technical Support; Information Systems (Mainframe & Data to include PEIMS); and Networking Services.

The department is responsible for (1) managing district-wide technology from concept formulation through implementation and evaluation, (2) ongoing maintenance, development, acquisition of district wide technology systems, and (3) training of employees district-wide.
Our Vision
The District assembled a Visioning Committee of stakeholders and partners in 2010 and again in 2013 to develop statements about the community’s beliefs with regards to learning, and statements about how to accomplish those beliefs.  The following was developed regarding Technology:  

Finding:  Students must make global connections and develop respect for other   cultures to compete in a 21st century job market and achieve their desired quality of life.

Direction :  Technology will be readily available for students and teachers to make outside connections.  
 
Finding:      All students will have equitable access to technology through the use of personally owned or school provided equipment.

Directions :   Teachers will increase their expertise and comfort with technology through district-sponsored training and incentives for further education.  

Technology will be continuously updated in order to remain current and relevant to the curriculum.  

Access to on-line courses for students will be expanded.   

In the selection and evaluation process of teachers, the district will place a high level of expectation on technology proficiency and application to classroom learning processes  

Necessary infrastructure will be provided to allow for appropriate network and wireless connection.
