Cinde Thomas-Jimenez, President (District 3)
How do Seguin ISD students inspire you?
I find it inspirational that SISD students are excited about learning. When I visit campuses, I see actively engaged students that exhibit contagious enthusiasm. I always leave the campuses with an uplifted spirit.
What motivates you to serve as a Seguin ISD board member?
My motivation comes from many years of involvement in Seguin ISD -- I have seen the potential of the district through the many roles that I have served. I worked as a teacher for 10 years, and then came back to the district as a parent and volunteer. I would like to see SISD become one of the premier districts in central Texas - a destination district.
What are some highlights you've experienced serving on the board of trustees?
I believe that bringing in new leadership will result in many progressive and innovative changes. Many of these changes will be reflected in the Strategic Plan, which is currently under development and includes input from all factions of the district --teachers, students, parents, administrators and community members. There is an atmosphere of positive enthusiasm throughout the district and community that I haven't seen for many years.
Please share one word to describe how you feel about serving the students and staff of Seguin ISD.
