The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to Seguin ISD for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).
Administered by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada, the certificate of achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
Seguin ISD’s CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive spirit of full disclosure to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to review the CAFR.
As a result, an award of financial reporting achievement has been given to the district’s business department for preparing the award-winning CAFR.
“I, along with the Seguin ISD board of trustees, appreciate the diligence of the Business Services Department for outstanding stewardship and transparency in all areas of Seguin ISD’s finances,” said Dr. Matthew Gutierrez, Seguin ISD Superintendent.
The award is for the CAFR submitted for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2018.
