Seguin ISD to host community bond meetings

Seguin ISD Superintendent Dr. Matthew Gutierrez is hosting a series of meetings to help share information on the May 4 bond election.

He is inviting the community to learn more about the bond program through two community forums scheduled for Wednesday, March 20 and Thursday, March 28. Both meetings are 7:30-8:30 a.m. at Seguin ISD District Office located at 1221 E. Kingsbury St. Spanish translation will be available.

“My goal with the community forums is to create on opportunity for stakeholders to stop by on their way to work, after dropping their children off at school or perhaps after they have eaten breakfast at their favorite restaurant. We will have information on how the bond projects were designed and prioritized, the long range facility plan, potential tax implications and voter information. Naturally, we will be glad to answer any questions,” Gutierrez said.

Interested community members may come and go during the community forums.

Another event, Gutierrez’s biannual State of the District presentation, will also focus on the bond election.

“I am looking forward to hosting our State of the District at Briesemeister Middle School on Monday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m. This event is open to the entire Seguin ISD community and serves as another opportunity for our stakeholders to learn more about the bond program,” he said.

In addition to the community forums and State of the District, Seguin ISD staff is coordinating bond presentations at its campuses, plus civic and community organizations in Seguin.

“I appreciate our Seguin area clubs and organizations for scheduling bond presentations in the coming weeks and we are hopeful to schedule more. It is imperative that all eligible voters make their voice heard during early voting and election day,” he said.
